In 2004 the state of Georgia’s movie industry was dying due to successful motion picture tax incentives in Louisiana. Our Atlanta-based IATSE Local 479 worked in tandem with the Georgia Production Partnership to lobby for the Georgia General Assembly to craft a well-planned tax incentive to save the state’s film industry. As part of an educational package, I created this diagram (based on data provided by the state) to provide a clear demonstration of how deeply gutted Georgia’s annual motion picture production budgets had become between 2002 and 2003.
